ToastWall is for events where everyone already has a phone out. Guests scan your QR, photos hit the screen in the room, and when you mark Event over you download the album. Legal detail lives in the Terms and Privacy Policy.

What is ToastWall?
ToastWall lets guests at your event share photos and short clips without installing an app. They scan your QR or type your Event Code, send something in, and it can show up on the screen while everyone is still in the room. When you mark Event over, what you collected becomes an album you download and share on your terms.
What do guests do?
You hand them a QR, a join link, or the Event Code. They open it on their phone, snap a photo or short clip (or pick one from their camera roll), and send it in. No app store, no signup form, no account to create. If the screen is running in the room, they can watch their photo show up with everyone else's.
What is the screen vs the album?
The screen is the show in the room: your TV, projector, or monitor where new photos appear while the event is happening. The album is what you keep when the event is done. Mark Event over and the screen closes for new guest joins. What remains is the album you download, and optionally share with a Wall/Album link if you want guests back later.
Who can see my event album?
Only people you invite. They need your Event Code, or a join link that includes it. Guests can type the code on the homepage, open your join link, or use the short wall URL. Guessing the event name alone will not work. If you want the album to stay private, treat the Event Code like a house key: do not post it on public websites.
What is a toast?
A toast is a short prompt on the guest's phone, something like “show us your best dance-floor moment.” They answer with a photo or clip, and that answer can hit the screen. It is not a speech, and it is not a drink. Just a friendly nudge to capture something worth showing the room.
What is the Guest code vs the Wall/Album code?
Two doors, on purpose. During the event, guests use the Guest code on the join QR to send photos to the screen. After Event over, that door closes. To let people back for the album, share the Wall/Album code or link. Same event, different keys for different moments.
Is ToastWall for weddings, bars, or corporate events?
Yes, all three. Weddings and showers, bar nights and watch parties, corporate offsites and team events. Same product, different rooms. See celebrations, bars, and corporate events.
Will people actually scan?
They will if you make it easy. Put the QR where people actually sit, not tucked by the entrance. Have the host, DJ, or bartender mention it once. The screen sells itself: once someone sees a photo go up, the next person reaches for their phone. You do not need a scavenger hunt or a prize wheel.
Why not WhatsApp, a hashtag, or a shared Drive?
Group chats compress photos and bury them in endless scroll. Hashtags get forgotten by dessert, and you spend the next week chasing people. A shared Drive folder never puts anything on the TV, and plenty of guests simply will not upload. ToastWall puts photos on the screen in the room first, then hands you an album of originals to download. The room sees them when it still matters.
What does Event over do?
Event overis your button for “we're done for now.” Guest QR and NFC links stop accepting new joins. They were never the full album anyway. Share your Wall/Album link if you want guests to revisit what you collected. Download all unlocks for you. Grab your ZIP within 30 days. For hosts this step is permanent: you cannot reopen the event yourself. Marked it by mistake? Contact support. Ops can undo it.
Can guests like or add more after Event over?
You can leave that path open if you want. After Event over, guests can still add photos through Contribute. Those uploads land in the album only. They do not go back on the room screen. To open the album they need the Wall/Album code or link from you, not the guest QR alone. They can like items too (we use an anonymous cookie on their device). Likes do not require Google.
What does $60 per event buy?
One event: guests scan a QR, photos and clips hit the screen in the room, and you download the album when you mark Event over. Payment is Throw this event · $60 before you create. You pay through Stripe Checkout, which opens the event to guests (join links, Event Code, NFC, photos on the screen). Enter promo codes on the Stripe page. A 100% off code completes without collecting a card. The album stays available up to 30 days after Event over. No GB tiers, no ads in the current offer. We are built for events, not long-term photo hosting.
How long can new guests join?
While your event is live, new guests can join with your Event Code or QR. Mark Event over when you are done. That closes guest joins (you can do this sooner). Sign in with Google to create. Each new event requires Throw this event · $60 before you create. Payment opens the event to guests. Promo codes go on the Stripe checkout page. A 100% off code completes without collecting a card.
How long is the album kept after Event over?
After you mark Event over, we keep your album for up to 30 days. Download the album ZIP before then. ToastWall is not a permanent archive. Use Save album ZIP / Download all on the wrap-up screen or Media page (Sign in with Google). The prepared ZIP file itself is kept about 14 days, separate from the album window. Live events are not auto-deleted. During Early Access we may gently extend availability until purge is enforced. That is not a promise of forever storage.
Can guests download a single photo or video?
Yes, from the album after Event over. Per-item Download asks for Sign in with Google (the same identity hosts use). Join, upload, like, and Contribute stay Event Code based and do not need Google. Guest downloads are privacy-scrubbed (location EXIF stripped). Your host ZIP keeps the full originals.
How do hosts, venues, and guests sign in?
Hosts Sign in with Google to manage My events, mark Event over, and download the album ZIP. Venue TVs and guest phones use the Event Code for join, upload, like, and Contribute. No Google required for any of that. Guests only need Google for per-item album Download and Visited Albums / History. Legacy events may be claimed once with the old organizer password, then managed with Google. Your toast library stays on your Google account so the next event is not starting from zero.
What is Visited Albums / My History?
When you Sign in with Google and view or download from an album, that album shows up automatically in Visited Albums/ My History. There is no “add event” button. It is separate from host My events, where you create, run Live, manage Media, and change Settings.
Can hosts export to Google Photos?
After Event over, Host Media can send selected photos into a Google Photos album named ToastWall - your event. We only ask Google for permission to add photos to albums we created, not to read your whole library. Copies are privacy-scrubbed; your ZIP still has full originals. Google still has to approve that Photos permission, so Export may not show on Media yet. Until it does, use Save album ZIP / Download all within 30 days after Event over. Who owns the photos?
You own what you upload. ToastWall does not take copyright and does not use guest photos to advertise ToastWall. The host of that event may use those files for the event and for their own publicity (recap, social, site, prints, Google Photos). They may not sell them as stock. Deleting on ToastWall does not pull back copies the host already downloaded or posted elsewhere. Other people in the frame are a separate consent question. Full detail in the Terms.
Who is responsible for what's on the screen?
Events are private and Event-code gated. ToastWall is the platform, not the host of your physical party. You (the host) decide who gets the Event Code, set norms for guests, and use hide/delete tools on uploads. Guests keep ownership of what they upload and license you to use those files for the event and your own publicity. You still handle venue photo notices and people in the shot. ToastWall provides Event-code privacy and host tools. We do not pre-moderate every upload, and we are not liable for disputes between you and your guests over content or Event Code sharing. What’s the refund policy?
Once an event is created and guest media is flowing, or guest access has been opened by payment or a free promo, fees are generally non-refundable. Card data is handled by Stripe on their checkout page. ToastWall never sees full card numbers. If checkout failed or you were charged in error before guest access opened, email support@toastwall.com. What is Early Access?
ToastWall is in Early Access (public beta). Features may still change, and we are hardening reliability as we go. Anyone with Google can create. Events are $60 before setup. The pricing and 30-day download window in this FAQ are the published model. Download your ZIP when Event over. Please do not rely on us as forever storage.
Need a photo removed? (Right to be Forgotten)
Email privacy@toastwall.com with a link to the image (or enough detail for us to find it) and we will delete it within 30days. Guests can also delete their own uploads from “My uploads” while the event is still open.
Is there an age requirement?
ToastWall is for users 13 and older. See our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
How do I try ToastWall or ask a product question?
Anyone with Google can create an event from the homepage (Start an event). For product questions, this FAQ is a good start, or use Help.
How do I get help when something breaks?
Use the in-app Help form (linked from organizer admin too). We read every message in email and reply from support@toastwall.com. You can reply to that thread. Prefer to write directly? Email support@toastwall.com. There is no live chat or ticket portal.
